Saturday 10th September 2022 9.30am – 5.30pm approx

In this full day cake class, you will learn how to:

  • Layer and fill an 8″ round sponge cake with buttercream
  • Carve your sponge cake into a simple boat shape
  • Crumb coat with chocolate ganache to give a professional finish
  • Cover the carved cake with sugar paste to give a wooden plank effect
  • Cover the cake drum with sugar paste
  • Work with Rice Krispie Treats to make the cabin
  • Model a selection of cute animal cake toppers

This class is suitable for beginner’s with some experience, and for those with intermediate skill levels

Everything you need to complete your cake will be provided for you to use at the class

A light lunch & refreshments are included in the class price

You will learn to:
  • Layer and fill your 8″ round sponge cake with delicious buttercream
  • Carve your sponge into a simple boat shape
  • Crumb coat your cake with chocolate ganache
  • Achieve a smooth chocolate ganache finish
  • Colour sugar paste using professional colours
  • Cover your cake with a layer of sugar paste, creating a wooden plank effect finish
  • Add decorative details to the side of the ark
  • Work with Rice Krispie Treats (RKT) to create a ‘cabin’ for the ark
  • Model a selection of cute animals with modelling paste
  • Cover a cake board with sugar paste
  • Finish your cake board with a satin ribbon, for a professional look

During the class, I will:
  • Show to how to complete each part of the cake, step by step
  • Be on hand to help and advise you as you work on your own cake
  • Answer any questions you may have related to this cake class

As this is a full day class, a light lunch will be provided, however please get in touch if you have any specific dietary requirements

Tea, coffee and water will be readily available during the class.

There will also be light refreshments, such as biscuits, available too.


This class is suitable for intermediate cake decorators (or beginners with some experience of covering cakes – please get in touch if you are unsure).

Class timings:

This 7 hour (approx) class runs from 9.30am to 5.30pm (with a 1 hour break for lunch).

Please note that finishing time is approximate, depending on speed students work, so please allow extra time when planning your travel, in case the class runs over.

After the class:

You will take home your cake to enjoy, as well as the skills and knowledge to recreate it at home.
