In this online class you will learn how to make Character models. Including Santa, Rudolf and a sack of gifts.

This is a recording of online class which is accessed via a private facebook group – the recordings will stay in the group for you to re-watch whenever you like.

Models are pictured on top of a 6″ round cake and on a 10″ round cake drum.

You will learn to:
  • Use simple tools and techniques to create these cute Christmas Character Models
  • Use basic shapes to model Characters
  • Use tools to create texture
  • Make edible cake toppers for your festive bakes
How do I access this online class?:
  • This class was taught as a series of live demonstrations within a private Facebook group
  • Recordings of the live classes are available for you to watch back at any time in the private Facebook groups, as separate videos for each model
  • PDF tutorials (with full colour photos and step by step instructions) for each model will be located in the files section of the FB group for you to download and use at any time
  • The bonus content will be a pre-recorded tutorial, which will be uploaded to the private FB group

What equipment will I need?
Tools/Equipment List:
Small sharp knife
Small rolling pin
Dresden tool
Ball tools (small/medium)
Small sharp scissors
Clean paintbrushes (for glue/dust)
Small pliers (or scissors)
Cake pop sticks (alternatively you can use wooden skewers or dried spaghetti)
Small circle and square shaped cutters (for Santa)
Knitted texture mat (optional for Rudolf’s scarf

175g red
45g black
50g white
45g skin tone
5g yellow
gold/pink dusts
2 x 4mm black sugar pearls


165g brown
10g black
20g white
35g red
Dried spaghetti
Confectioners glaze (optional)

Sack of Presents

105g brown paste or modelling choc
30g each of assorted colour pastes
10g white paste

Note: for the modelling paste as listed above, I tend to use Saracino as my preferred brand, but there are many different brands available. You can also use sugar paste (fondant) and add a little Tylo powder for modelling.
