This Christmas Animal models online tutorial is a recording of live class demos within a private Facebook group 

The demonstrations will be available to watch as videos at any time to suit you within the group.

Models are pictured on top of a 6″ round cake and on a 10″ round cake drum

You will learn to:

  • Use simple tools and techniques to create these cute Christmas Animal Models
  • Use basic shapes to model animals
  • Use tools to create texture
  • Make edible cake toppers for your festive bakes

These tutorials are recording of live class demos:

  • Recordings of the live classes will be available for you to watch at any time in the private Facebook group, as 3 separate videos (Polar Bear, Teddy Bear and Penguins)
  • PDF tutorials (with full colour photos and step by step instructions) for each model will be located in the files section of the FB group for you to download and use at any time
  • I will be on hand to provide support (within the private FB group) if you have any questions about making the models within this class

What will I need to make the models?

Tools/Equipment List:

  • Small sharp knife
  • Small rolling pin
  • Dresden tool
  • Ball tools (small/medium)
  • Small sharp scissors
  • Clean paintbrushes (for glue/dust)
  • Small pliers (or scissors)
  • Cake pop sticks (alternatively you can use wooden skewers or dried spaghetti)
  • 45mm (approx) heart shaped cutter (for penguin)
  • Smile tool (optional for penguin)
  • Stitching tool (optional for teddy)

  • 110g white modelling paste
  • 1 x 7mm black sugar pearl
  • 2 x 4mm black sugar pearls

Teddy Bear

  • 110g white modelling paste
  • 5g black modelling paste
  • 2 x 4mm black sugar pearls


  • 85g black modelling paste
  • 10g white modelling paste
  • 10g orange modelling paste
  • 2 x 4mm black sugar pearls

Christmas Hat (per hat)

  • 15g red modelling paste
  • 10g white modelling paste

Note: for the modelling paste as listed above, I tend to use Saracino as my preferred brand, but there are many different brands available. You can also use sugar paste (fondant) and add a little Tylo powder for modelling.
