Ever wondered about….
- Taking up a new hobby?
- Learning a new skill?
- Improving basic cake decorating skills?
- Decorating a cake for your family birthdays?
- Making your own or a family member’s wedding cake?
- Developing from a hobby cake decorator to a professional?
- Holding a corporate ‘team building’ event with a difference?
If the answer to any of these is YES, then read on…….
If the answer is NO, read on anyway and you might change your mind
How can I learn cake decorating skills?
What are my choices?
You could learn from me in person by attending one of my cake decorating classes…..
I teach a variety of courses aimed at all skill levels, from beginners to advanced
From basic cake covering, to cupcakes, sugar modelling and sugar flowers.
Currently I hold my classes at a venue in Beverley, East Yorkshire (HU17), but am available to travel around the UK as a guest tutor at other venues.
Check the classes page on my website for available dates
Price depends on the type and duration of the class, but prices start from £45.
“I really enjoyed Julie’s cupcake decorating class and can’t wait to attend another. Julie was incredibly friendly and made it possible to create something I thought I’d never be able to do! The class was small enough that you could get plenty of 1-2-1 help and Julie had some great tips and tricks up her sleeve! Would highly recommend Julie’s classes – I’m looking forward to my next one.”Lizzie Hancock
But what if I can’t get to your classes?
If you would like to learn cake decorating skills, I can bring the class to you! All you need is a suitable venue and a group of people and I am happy to travel!
Or for businesses, I can give you a ‘team building’ event with a difference! Not only will your staff have fun and learn new skills, but they will take home their creation to enjoy!
Or maybe you prefer to learn online?
I recently did full length demonstration of a simple, carved, make up bag cake (complete with edible make up of course) at Sugar and Crumbs, a supplier of cake decorating equipment/materials, based in Stockport, UK.
You can also find these videos on my free online tutorials page on my website.
But what if I want to learn lots of different skills and learn about running a cake business?
I am a guest tutor at Pretty Witty Academy, which is an online school, featuring lots of guest tutors, teaching a whole range of cake decorating skills. There are tutorials available in both video and pictorial formats.
My gym-themed pictorial is featured on Pretty Witty Academy with more to follow…
The other amazing thing about Pretty Witty Academy is that there is a whole area filled with fabulous tutorials to help you set up and run a successful cake decorating business.
But you can choose if you would like to just access the cake tutorials or if you would like to access both the cake decorating and business tutorials, so it is equally useful for the hobby baker and professionals alike.
As well as the tutorial sections, there is a community forum, where members can ask questions and chat to other members, about cake related or non-cake related subjects.
I love the Pretty Witty Academy forum. It is so supportive and in fact I have recently been appointed as ‘Community Manager’ to help run the forum, which is a perfect job for me!! I love to help people!!
So, as you can see, there are lots of ways to learn. What’s stopping you?
